The Labor Day holiday will be here before you know it which means summer is coming to a close and it’s back to school time in Topeka and surrounding areas.
So while you’re preparing for that final road trip and backyard parties our friends at the Topeka Police Department want to ensure you and your family are safe on the roads.

Starting Friday (August 20th) through Monday (September 6th) the ‘You Drink, You Drive, You Lose’ campaign will begin as the Topeka Police Department and other state law enforcement agencies will be cracking down on drivers who are under the influence during this holiday weekend.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 7,324 alcohol-involved accidents in 2020, which rose up 9 percent from 2019.
