If you did not hear the news this morning, I, Sean Kelly, will be leaving KMAJ-FM. My final day will be Friday, June 25th.
Why am I leaving? It is not because of the great city of Topeka. Each and everyone of you that I have met in person or talked to on the phone have been amazing. The reason why is because of the photo above. When the pandemic hit, I went months not seeing my girls. And when I was able to, I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them. My plans are to get closer to them. As of now, I am not sure what I will be doing, or where I will be going.
It has been an amazing three years here. I met my wife Kristi, lived out a dream of calling hockey games on the radio and getting to work with who I now consider my own family member, that being Angie Stevens. Thank you for making me a part of your family each morning. I also want to thank Nic, Amber, Donna and everyone else here at Cumulus Topeka. I wish nothing but the best and all the success that will lie ahead for them.
As I always say before we sign off each morning, always remember to be good and to be safe. Those are words to live by to make this a better world to live in.
