The average kid gets $8 a week in allowance, plus MORE for chores. Some parents think allowance is only earned from doing chores. Others think kids should receive a weekly amount PLUS extra $ for completing chores. A recent study shows the average kid between 4 and 14 years old receives $8 a week but this is just the start. They also get extra for doing their chores such as:
- Washing the car = $4 extra
- Yard work= $4 extra
- Cleaning their room=$2 extra
- Laundry=$2 extra
- Vacuuming= $1.50 extra
- Taking out the trash= $1 extra
- Washing dishes= $1 extra
