As the calendar pages turn to May, a sense of community spirit and the drive to make a difference come to the forefront with the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This year, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will once again spearhead this noble cause, marking its continuation as the nation’s largest one-day food drive.
Harvesters Community Food Network, a beacon of hope in the fight against hunger, is set to play a pivotal role in this year’s event. Serving the northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri regions, Harvesters is not just a food bank but a lifeline for those in need, providing equitable access to nutritious food and addressing the root causes of hunger.
Harvesters is partnering with mail carriers in Topeka and Dillons grocery stores to do a kick-off event Saturday, May 4 from 10a-12p at Dillons on 21st and Fairlawn. They’ll be collecting food donations and encouraging interest and awareness in a larger food drive event, Stamp Out Hunger, on Saturday, May 11.
