Happy New Year! After celebrating the holidays and the New Year we are back honoring educators in Topeka and surrounding areas with our Crystal Apple Award and our latest winner is the first line of defense at Jackson Heights Elementary in Holton, Kansas.
Allow me to introduce you to Nancy Sipes who is the secretary and per my conversation with her she is the “Gate Keeper” where she constantly exhibits extraordinary dedication, kindness, and a work ethic that goes above and beyond expectations to ensure the front office runs smoothly during a busy school day.
It was the principal Daniel Pray who sent us her nomination letter and according to him Nancy is a valuable asset to the school as a dedicated worker.
Here’s a excerpt of his nomination letter about why he feel’s Nancy deserves the Crystal Apple Award:
Nancy has proven time and again to be an invaluable asset to our school community. Her kindness and welcoming demeanor create a positive atmosphere in the front office, making it a warm and inviting space for students, parents, and staff alike. Whether answering phone calls, assisting visitors, or helping students, Nancy consistently approaches her responsibilities with a genuine and caring attitude. What sets Nancy apart is her willingness to go above and beyond what is required. Whether it’s staying late to assist with an event, taking on additional responsibilities, or offering support to teachers and staff in need.
For Nancy’s dedication and devotion to Jackson Heights Elementary she is going to receive the following
- A Crystal Apple Award with her name on it
- A Prize Package from Prairie Band Casino and Resort
Also, Jackson Heights Elementary is in the running for a $1,000 donation that will be given away in January 2025.
If you know a teacher, office administrator, principal or coach that deserves the Crystal Apple Award we would love to hear from you!
