This week on American Idol, Luke Bryan was reunited with Ethan Payne during Ethan’s audition.

During his bio segment before his audition, Ethan, a 15 year old from Macon, Georgia, tells the story of the first time he met Luke. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 18 months old. He wrote to Make A Wish when he was 13, telling them that he wanted to meet Luke. After meeting before a show at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX in 2016, Luke invited Ethan to join him onstage and sing a few songs in front of 50,000 people.

Ethan showed up to his American Idol audition with the guitar he played onstage in Texas, gifted to him by Luke. Ethan invited Luke to join him during his audition, reuniting for “Do I”. Ethan also wasted no time flirting with Luke’s fellow judge, Katy Perry.
