There Is A Reason Why Topeka Loves Patrick Mahomes

Justin McLuckie

Patrick Mahomes has had a great week. Over the weekend he was named NFL MVP. The league selects that honor based on his performance on the field. What Patrick did off the field is even more amazing and he could be MVP all the time.

According to the website The Epoch Timesthe upstart quarterback spent a day painting a house. Not just any house though. It is a homeless veterans home.

Here is what the article says about the foundation:

“The “Tiny Houses for Homeless Vets” project is run by former U.S. Army corporal Chris Stout. The project was devised in mind of every man and woman in the Kansas City area who has served in the U.S. military and has since found themselves in need of transitional housing.”

Here is a picture of Patrick meeting one of the recipients of the homes. The picture came from the CommunityAmerica Credit Union Facebook page.

This is a great organization that helps Veterans get back on their feet. As you can see in this video, the founder had a long road before him.

We all know what this guy can do on the field. But what he does off the field is more amazing. To have so little free time and be the hottest star in the NFL, it is an honor to have a player like him in this area. It’s pretty safe to say that we are all proud of Patrick.
