It has been cold enough for lakes to start to freeze. And for one four-legged friend, he experienced that and had to have a little help out.
According to the Topeka Capital Journal Online edition, a dog had to be rescued from Lake Shawnee Sunday after being in the water for 20 minutes. Crews had gotten a call that a dog was in the lake and could not get out.
There is video of the rescue on the Shawnee Heights Fire Department Facebook page that shows the rescue.
I am very happy to say that the dog was not injured and back with its owners nice and warm. Happy endings for everyone is always a good thing.
