If you or your kids are huge Pokemon fans, then this news is going to make you smile. Topeka, along with seven other cities, have been selected to host and preview an opportunity to play the brand new Nitendo Switch game “Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!’ and “Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!”
According to a press release, The Topeka Zoo is going to host this family fun event Saturday, October 27th from 9 AM till 6 PM. This will take place in their parking lot. There will be a Pikachu and Eevee themed demo truck and the new Poke Ball accessory will be available to try out. The best part about this is that it is FREE!!!
This is also something you may not have known about the history of Pokemon and Topeka. Back in 1998, Nintendo chose the capital city to be a national site for a launch of new games. And if you were wondering what other cities were picked to launch the newest games, they are L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, Boston and New York. So, we are in an elite group of cities.
It will also be a busy day at the zoo. On the same day as the Pokemon preview, it is the second weekend of the Boo at the zoo event. It will be a perfect day to hang out outside the zoo, and then enter to do some fun trick-or treating. If you would like more info on that, click here.
