Melissa Siegfreid is this month’s Crystal Apple winner! She was nominated by one of her student’s parents, and they had a raving review for her.

“Mrs. Siegfreid is a teacher at Auburn Elementary! She went above and beyond her teaching duties consistently. If the students did not understand something, she would keep going until they finally understood it. She recorded poetry night because some parents couldn’t be there due to being in the military. My daughter learned a lot of respect because of how she talked to the students. Mrs. Siegfreid would reassure them and help them. She was so good to my daughter and she is having a hard time not having her as a teacher next year! She is one of the most deserving teachers that deserves this award! She would do anything for her kids! I know she did not just think of the kids while at school but also when they went home at night!”

Crystal apple recipients each receive a Prairie Band Casino Prize pack, which includes $50 in Prairie Cash, 2 Dinner Buffets and $44 to Bingo, as well as a commemorative Crystal Apple trophy. Recipients are also entered in to the Educator of the Year GRAND PRIZE: an overnight stay package at Prairie Band Casino & Resort. The package includes one overnight stay at the resort, $100 Prairie Cash, and $50 to the Steakhouse. But that’s not all – there will also be a $1000 donation given to the educator of the year’s school!
