Yes. You’ll lose an hour of sleep. But, think about that extra hour of daylight we gain backĀ in the evenings!
Here are four easy ways for you to manage Monday when you’ll be operating on less sleep.
- Drink tons of water. Not only is it great for your health, it’ll keep you active because of all the running back and forth to the bathroom. No sitting at your desk and getting drowsy!
- Find the sun. Suffer from that mid-afternoon slump? Sunlight alerts your brain to be more attentive. So wonder on down to the office with the view or take 10 minutes for a quick walk outside in the sun.
- Shut up and Dance! Well… at least get up and move. Find a stairwell, walk down the block for a cup of coffee, use the copier across the building from your you or walk down to talk to your coworker rather than email or call. Keeping your body moving alerts your brain to stay awake.
- Snack on something crunchy. Think about that crisp sound of biting into a baby carrot or celery. What about those tasty almonds or cracking pistachios? Those sounds and that action will also trick your brain into being more alert so you can have a better Monday following the time change this weekend.
Remember: We Spring Forward Sunday morning. So set your clocks forward one-hour before going to bed Saturday night. Then, replace those smoke detector and CO detector batteries Sunday morning.
